I highly recommend the Mindful Gardener for your landscape design. Maggie created a wonderful design for my entire property, and was able to incorporate all of the plants and elements I wanted. Knowing that part of the plan was to replace a lot of broken driveway, Maggie’s plan included reusing the concrete for paths and walls. The plan also included retaining some mature foundation plants in front of one of the houses. The plants have only been in for 6 months, but it’s already looking wonderful. In a year or so it will be unbelievable! I’m using much less water, and attracting birds and butterflies.

Maggie was excellent to work with and I am extremely happy with the plans she created for me (they actually look so nice I plan on framing them). Before I met her I was a bit paralyzed by indecision, but after explaining to her my general intent, she came up with a beautiful plan for my yard and I am happily executing on the plans bit by bit (you can also take the plans to a contractor who can take care of everything for you). To describe the process, we spoke over the phone so I could explain to her what I was looking for (a design for my blank-canvas backyard of about 3,000 square feet). She then came over, measured and photographed the yard, did some tests with the soil, did an an analysis of how much sun each area receives, then created the plan. She also provided an information booklet with all the plants in the plan, with photos and helpful information (e.g. watering needs). My front yard is a lawn at the moment and if I every decide to change that I will be calling Maggie again.

I moved here 6 years ago to a mostly drought tolerant yard and didn't really know how to take care of most of these plants. Until I met Maggie, I was searching the web and local gardens (ie Huntington, Arboretum) for similar plants. It may seem like an additional expense, but is really the best investment one can make to ensure they have a garden that they will enjoy for years to come. This is true especially for those who don't know much about plants (like me). I thought your fees are quite reasonable. And you are always upfront about projected cost so I can stay on track with budget. I would certainly recommend your service to other people.
